SYNERGY Deck Cadet Exam - How to crack?

Yes, you too can crack synergy exam and be onboard in some of the best ships. Here are a few tips for study and to be remembered while attending the exam.

Synergy is the name of shipping company known by every marine student as it is the only company in India which conduct recruitment for sea jobs in a transparent way . Synergy conducts entrance exam for Deck Cadets, Engine Cadets, Ordinary Seamen, Stewards. Exam is conducted usually in the month of April-July every year. The syllabus for the exam is provided in the website mentioned below.

The exam for the year 2022 was conducted during July. Exam centers are available in most of the cities in India. Fees for applying for the exam was 1500+18%GST. Exam is of 180minutes duration that consist of 200 questions.

Tips to Study for Exam

👉Do not rely on any advice or pdf provided by YouTube channel or websites.

👉Revise every topic mentioned in Exam syllabus.

👉Have a good knowledge of ROR, SOLAS, MARPOL, Codes, Conventions etc.

👉Try to study Problems in Cargo work, Stability, Navigation ( Problems were asked in 2022 exam)

👉Study aptitude type questions(Referring IndiaBix website is a good option, try to find other books and websites too)

👉Have a knowledge of Physics and Chemistry Basics (Plus Two)

Tips While attending Exam

⛛Reach the exam Centre on time

⛛A digital calculator will be provided on the screen but it can be operated using mouse only😶.

⛛Never try to click on the option if you don't know the answer because the option once selected can only be changed to other option and cannot be deselected.

⛛Do not waste time by reading the question again and again if you don't know the answer.

⛛Attend only the questions you are sure about the answer. Any wrong answer will bring negative0.25 and it will harm your score.

⛛Try to manage the time- keep an eye on the timer.

If you keep studying for the exam you can crack it. Always remeber that there is no other way in India to get placed as Cadets in ships as most of the companies dont recruit cadets. If you are placed from your institute its well and good. Be vigilant not to get trapped by any agents asking for money. Keep working hard you will definitely clear the exam.
